Fireflies Sanctuary and Penarik Fishing Village

Drive north for an hour to the picturesque and exotic fishing village of Kg Penarik. Walk around the fishing village and witness the lifestyle of the fisherman and view traditional Malay houses. Enjoy picnic dinner by the beach. Before boating up river to the fireflies sanctuary. Mangrove trees along both sides of the river are of Sonneratia caseolaris (Berembang) specie. Paddle with sampan (small boat) and witness one of the nature’s wonders – of thousands of fireflies flashing their lights in synchronous pattern.
