5 Days Malaysia World Heritage Trails from Penang
This package is designed for those who want to explore the cultural heritage of West Malaysia, particularly the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in George Town, Malacca and a most recent gazette archaeological site in Perak.
Day 1: Arrival - Penang
Arrive at Penang International Airport, meet and greet and transfer to hotel. Free at own leisure for the rest of the day in Penang. Overnight stay at Eastern & Oriental Hotel or similar.
Day 2: Penang (B)
Morning explore the streets of George Town with its famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Photo stop at Fort Cornwallis, Penang's most prominent historical fortress. Visit the Peranakan Mansion which houses priceless antique collection and artifacts, showcasing an assimilation of cultures between the Malays and the early Chinese settlers. Next stop is the Blue Mansion or Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, an award winner of Asia Pacific Heritage building. Free at own leisure for the rest of the day or optional tour. Overnight stay at Eastern & Oriental Hotel or similar.
Day 3: Penang - Kuala Lumpur (B)
Morning begin a 4-hour journey by land to Kuala Lumpur, passing scenic countryside, rubber and oil palm plantations. On the way visit Lenggong Valley in Perak where pre-historic Perak man was once sighted. Arrive at Kuala Lumpur in the afternoon. Free at own leisure for the rest of the day. Overnight stay at Ritz Carlton Hotel or similar.
Day 4: Kuala Lumpur - Malacca (B/L)
Morning begin a 2-hour journey by land to Malacca, the oldest trading port in Malaysia which had undergone Portuguese, Dutch and British rule. Visit Stadhuys or the Dutch Square and take a walk up St. Paul’s Hill, see St. Paul’s Church and the 17th Century Dutch tombstones. Stop for a typical ‘Nyonya’ lunch before or after taking a stroll through the Antiques Row at Jonker Street. Other visits include the famous Portuguese Porta de Santiago and Cheng Hoon Teng, the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia. Time permitting, photo stop at the Morten Village, a typical Malay village. Overnight stay at The Majestic Hotel or similar.
Day 5: Malacca - KLIA - Departure (B)
Free at own leisure until the transfer to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) for your departure flight.
