7 Days Truly Malaysia Experience
Malaysia is a multi-faceted and diversified destination. This tour takes you from cosmopolitan city to cool mountain, nostalgic town, palm-fringed beaches, rustic Malay villages and experience the Malaysian culture and Asian hospitality.
Day 1 (Monday): Arrival - Kuala Lumpur - Cameron Highlands
Depart Kuala Lumpur in the morning and travel north to the hill resort of Cameron Highlands. Stands at 1,820 metres above sea level, it is synonymous with fresh fruits and vegetables, horticultural and tea plantation nourished by fertile and rich terrain. En-route, you may chance upon seeing Orang Asli (Malaysia aboriginals) on hunting trip, carrying their long blowpipes with poison darts. Check-in at hotel. Afternoon visit vegetables and fruit farms, not to be missed is the visit to a tea plantation and its tea processing plant. The evening is free at leisure. Overnight stay at Lakehouse Cameron Highlands or similar.
Day 2 (Tuesday): Cameron Highlands - Penang (travelling distance 285 km; road journey approx. 4 hours) (B/L)
Begins your day with a visit to the morning farmer’s market. Then check-out and travel downhill and northwards to Ipoh, the city of tin mines. After lunch, visit a Pomelo farm and then continue journey to Kuala Kangsar, the royal town of Perak. View the majestic Ubudiah Mosque, built in 1917 and remains the most beautiful mosque in the country. Cross the 2nd Penang Bridge, 25 km long and the 2nd longest in Asia. The evening is free at leisure or optional tours. Overnight stay at Bayview Beach Resort or similar.
Day 3 (Wednesday): Penang (B)
Explore the streets of Georgetown and its rich heritage. Admire the intricate carvings, woodwork and porcelain décor of Khoo Kongsi and the adjacent Yap Kongsi. After that take a short leisurely trishaw ride through Chinatown to visit Peranakan Museum which houses some priceless antique collections of the Straits Settlement era. Last stop is Wat Chayamakaralam which houses one of the world’s largest Reclining Buddha. Afternoon and evening free at leisure or for optional tour. Overnight stay Bayview Beach Resort or similar.
Day 4 (Thursday): Penang - Kota Bahru (travelling distance 386 km; road journey approx. 5 hours) (B/L)
Have an early breakfast before starting the journey to the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. This journey to Kota Bahru transverses changing terrains & lifestyles. The state of Kelantan, translated as “Land of Lightning”, is a veritable treasure trove of delights, rustic fishing villages, verdant paddy fields and palm fringed beaches. It is also the most traditional state in Malaysia in respect of Malay culture & handicrafts. Upon arrival, the evening is free at leisure. Overnight stay at Renaissance Hotel or similar.
Day 5 (Friday): Kota Bahru - Terengganu (travelling distance 54 km; road journey approx. 1.5 hours) (B/L)
Depart in the morning to Terengganu, by passing traditional Malay fishing villages and unspoilt beaches dotted with colourful fishing boats. Arrive Kuala Terengganu town in mid afternoon, an orientation drive along the ‘long roof’ China Town. Stop for lunch at local restaurant. Visit the cultural Central Market before arriving at hotel for check-in. Overnight stay at Primula Beach Resort or similar.
Day 6 (Saturday): Kuala Terengganu - Kuantan (travelling distance 312 km; road journey approx. 3 hours) (B/L)
Start your journey to Kuantan after breakfast, passing the picturesque fishing village of Kemaman and the palm-fringed Malay village of Cherating. Upon arrival, the rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight stay at Swiss Garden Beach Resort & Spa or similar.
Day 7 (Sunday): Kuantan - Kuala Lumpur (travelling distance 259 km; road journey approx. 4 hours) (B/L)
After lunch, transfer back to Kuala Lumpur.
